Where does it all go?

A car produces approximately three times its weight in CO₂ emissions every year; therefore owning unnecessarily large vehicles can cause needless damage to the environment.
Driving a 12mpg (5kpl) 4x4 will waste more energy in 1 year than leaving the fridge door open for 7 years.
Air travel is the fastest growing contributor of global carbon dioxide emissions. At present, it contributes 3.5%, but this is expected to rise to 25% by 2030.
The United States has the highest rate of carbon emissions in the world, with close to 6 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide released annually, approximately 25% of the world's total.
Artificial lighting generates 1.9 billion tonnes of CO₂ globally per year – more than the total output from all the nuclear power stations.
