HSBC Announces US$8 million partnership with Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute
HSBC is to partner with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) over five years to support the largest ever field experiment looking at the long-term effects of climate change.
The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute is the only Smithsonian bureau based outside the United States, located in Panama. HSBC has partnered with STRI to support their field experiment which studies the long-term effects of climate change, particularly on the world’s forests. This is a ground-breaking partnership and the results should be an important contribution to the scientific community.
