HSBC Commit to change

Shanghai Tree Fostering

HSBC China has made a commitment to foster all of the trees planted by HSBC in the Paotaiwan Wetland Park in Shanghai for three years beginning in March 2007. HSBC staff have planted trees in the park for two consecutive years on National Tree-Planting Day. HSBC China has made the long-term commitment to look after these trees as a way to improve the ecology in Shanghai and to increase staff awareness of environmental issues. There are currently 80 trees in the area and HSBC has committed more than US$25,000 for their care over the next three years.
