Launched in 2004, the Living Business Awards recognise socially responsible SMEs in Hong Kong, considering environmental initiatives, employee management, community development, and overall management effectiveness. 2007 will be the third year of the Living Business Awards.

In addition to supporting the awards, HSBC also offers Living Business seminars to help SMEs become more socially responsible. In 2006, topics included:

• Water resources management;
• Green manufacturing;
• Sustainable growth through ethical sourcing.

The seminars are free for SMEs to attend and include workshops, guest speakers, and best practice sharing opportunities. There is also a Living Business website which provides advice for the workplace.
