HSBC Security Services on the Isle of Man has contributed time and money to help install a wind turbine and solar panel system at the Ayres Visitors Centre. The new energy measures will provide the centre with heat, light and power. An audio-visual system will be added to the education facilities, enabling CCTV footage of bird nest boxes to be shown in the visitors centre on a flat screen television. There is a nature trail near the visitors centre and the area is internationally renowned for bird watching.

The visitors centre is part of the Manx Wildlife Trust and the wind turbine and solar panel system is a first for the trust at one of its nature reserves or buildings.
