HSBC has won the newly-launched Total Caring award from the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. Part of the Caring Company Scheme, HSBC was given this award after demonstrating its responsibility in the six areas looked at by the award committee:

• Staff volunteering;
• Family friendliness;
• Employment of people from vulnerable groups;
• Partnering with community organisations;
• Mentoring programmes;
• Corporate giving.

HSBC was nominated for the award by the Hong Kong Red Cross and the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society among others.

In addition to winning the Total Caring Award, the Company Programme, co-organised by HSBC and Junior Achievement Hong Kong, was given the Outstanding Partnership Project Award.
