UK – Made in Brunel
Made in Brunel is a showcase for design and engineering students. The first exhibition supported by HSBC was held in 2006 showing 180 exhibits by Brunel students and six students from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.
Made in Brunel pushes students to apply creativity and innovation to contemporary business, economic or consumer problems. It also provides an opportunity for producers, business professionals and service providers to view the future of the engineering and design world.
HSBC donated two awards to the 2006 show:
- Innovation Award - Given to the most innovative project which could be developed to succeed in an international market;
- International Award - Given to the most innovative project by a student from Tsinghua which could be developed to succeed in an international market.
In 2007, students from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras will also be invited to take part. HSBC will donate three HSBC Making your Mark Awards and a prize will be awarded to one student from each country. Each award consists of US$4,000 and the title of HSBC Fellow.
